Spiritual Direction/Soul Care is the practice of journeying with another who helps you appreciate God’s presence in your life. As you talk about your circumstances, problems, hopes, relationships, work, and ministry you learn to pay attention to how you’re experiencing the Spirit of Jesus and how to respond to his grace and guidance with growing trust, prayerfulness, and love.
Spiritual Direction differs from counseling and coaching in the way that it is not focused on diagnosing or resolving trauma but rather on accompanying another through the journey as they discern the presence of God in those seasons. At the same time, Spiritual Direction can be a powerful tool in identifying goals, and patterns of thought and receiving empathy as you journey with following Jesus.
Specific reasons why someone might partner with a Spiritual Director include:
- navigating seasons of spiritual dryness or burnout
- deepening in intimacy and relationship with Jesus
- navigating seasons of grief and loss
- identifying and practicing spiritual disciplines that will help your spiritual walk.
- deepening emotional and spiritual health and
- developing a well of “being” from where our “doing” can flow.
As a Spiritual Director, I bring over 20+ years of ministry experience and have a special interest in walking alongside pastors, ministry leaders, and men though
I am open to partnering with people in multiple contexts. I hold a Master of Divinity with an emphasis in Spiritual Formation and completed a training program through Paseo Communities in 2022 as a trained Spiritual Director. I also am a member of the ESDA and SDI associations and am a certified enneagram practitoner.
Spiritual Direction sessions typically last an hour and are offered at $75 per hour. However, I do not want finances to be a barrier in pursuing soul care. Sliding scale rates are available on a case-by-case basis. Sessions are available in person or via Google Meet and are typically take place once a month.
